View Full Version : Error message on cash reciepts journal

When I try to change the accounting period under options, an error message come up that says, "peachw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows, you will need to restart the program. An error log has been created." The error log has "1809 This will close the current company! " Does anyone know how I can fix this? Sometimes I need to open a past cash receipts journal.

Most likely your Peachtree data has been corrupted and needs to be repaired. Click the Data Damaged banner at the top left corner of the screen.

The only thing is it happens in all three companies that we have in Peachtree. It also happens from any of the 3 computers hooked to the server. We did not have a damaged data banner but we did find how to open Peachtree with the -i , which gave us the opportunity to repair. It cycled through on the disp. journal but the cash journal is too fast to think it is doing anything. It also keeps telling us that we cannot back up with someone else in, which they are not. Ahhhhhhhhhh. After we did some repair we tried changing the period in the cash rec. journal again and it gave us the same error. Thanks for trying to help us.

Keep in mind that the Repair function hidden in Peachtree is much different than a professional repair. There's no cost if your data can't be fixed, so you have nothing to lose by submitting your data for a free check.

You need some good tech support.
You can try these steps. Do a search for *.lck and *.ptl in the peachtree folder on the server and delete these temp files. Then make a backup of all three companies. Then uninstall Peachtree and reinstall it.
