I am new in PCA and i wonder anyone is kind enough to answer my question. An office supplies company needs to keep track historical selling price charged to the same customer for same inventory item. Says in Jun-01 i sold a HP toner 4092 to A Ltd for $105 and in Nov-01, the same customer has placed a same order, could anybody tell me if PCA can automatically shown last selling price of HP toner 4092 sold was $105 instead of pre-determined price set in Price Level 1-5. I need this as i sell the same item to many customers at different price. Thanks.

From my experience with Peachtree it does not give you the ability to keep track of last price charged to a customer for an item. This would be more of a customer item file. Even to alter an existing report of peachtree's would be diffuclt for you to obtain the price each time you enter an order for that customer. I do not believe that at time of order entry for a particular customer that peachtree is capable of picking up the last price charged to that customer for that item. Either it picks up the price in the inventory master file or if a price level is designated in the customer file it will then adjust the price from the inventory master file according to the price level. if an inventory item happened to change in price during the times in which the same customer ordered the same item and your price level was adjust only once for let's say price level 1 is 5% discount and your price increased on your inventory item that customer would be passed the same price increase along with all other customers across the board.

You would be able to do it with crystal report writer but it would involve running a report prior to entering the order for the customer so you know what price to charge the customer.

Mark is right - you can't do what you want within Peachtree - you would need to do it with an external tool that looks at the Peacthree database.

In PawCom we have added the ability on our Maintain Customer form to drill down to the orders for that customer so that you can see what the price was on items sold to that customer. That isn't quite as convenient as what you were looking for, but we also provide a sales/invoicing form that could be modified to do a similar search for a specific line item for a customer.

I'd say the solution is something that will involve spending money. You will need the tools to access the Peachtree data directly. Given that you can develop exactly the functionality you want or spend some more money and have someone do the development for you.
