Transfering 7.0 data to WinXP

I was running Complete Accounting 7.0 on Win2000 Pro and am having trouble transfering data to a new PC using WinXP SP2. I copied the company directory over and unchecked the read only box. The error message I get is "you must get an updated version to use that company". I only use this for payroll. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you do not have all the updates for release 7. The initial release was 7.0.01, which was quickly replaced by 7.0.02. Then after a few months they release an update that made it 7.0.03 or 7.0.04. There was a conversion procces between 7.02 and 7.03 (04), so you cannot open 7.03 (04) if you are using 7.02 (which is what the original cd most likely is). Unfortunately since release is way past the point of support, Peachtree does not have these updates on their site. You could check with Shannon Tucker, the person that runs this site and see if he has the update, check with other certified consultants or users. I stopped carrying the update because release 7 had so many bugs in it that it really is best to upgrade to at least release 2003 or above.
