I am getting this error in accounts receivable when I try and post/convert incoices: c-tree error 214 - unrecoverable database error peachtree classic. I have to click ok and it automatically closes peachtree.
A co-worker was doing a backup of another program on the server while I was creating invoices. Something happened to the server and all the pc's went down. When I re-started peachtree, I created journal entries in a/r and transferred them to the g/l. I went back and looked at the customers I billed and 5 are ok, but the last 7 show the invoices I entered as "pending". So I tried to post/convert the invoices and that's when I got the error.
Any help would be appreciated.

You should run Recover Data on your A/R files. Whenever you have abnormal termination of PCA you should IMMEDIATELY run RD on the affected module. All users must be out of PCA when you run RD

If RD does not fix your problem, and in your case it might not. You will have to restore a backup of PCA and rekey the lost transactions.

Thanks for your help. Recover Data files worked. I am now able to go into invoices and a/r. However, I still have the 7 customer accounts with "pending invocies". I tried to post/convert invoices but peachtree says there are no documents to convert. I tried to view, edit, and delete the document numbers but peachtree says they don't exist. Is there anyway I can get rid of these pending invoices, so I can just create new ones to replace them?

Use UTILBA to delete pending invoices.

Can you tell me how to use it? Is there info in the peachtree user books?

Look in the PCA directory. You should see an executable named UTILBA.

Before you click on it, be sure that everyone is out of PCA and it is closed. Once you click on it enter you two letter company id just as before and you should be able to locate the program you are looking for. I can't give you a more specific location because I am not sitting in front of the software.
