Back up

Hi,
I am having a problem when I back up my data. My computer is “confused” with an icon for Peachtree, it saves with “Publisher” icon. I tried everything. So, as of right now, I can’t open my back up (on zip disk or from desk top), because it can’t be open in Peachtree program. Please help. Thanks.

If it is showing a publisher icon, it is because someone in the past has tried to open it with publisher. This is called file association in windows. Even though it is associated with publisher, you should still be able to back and restore. If they cannot be restored, please list the error message you are getting. The more complete the information you offer, the greater the chances are of offering a solution.

I am able to restore the data from my backups. Thank you!
Is there any way to change the icon?

Yes there is. Right click on the file and go to properties. You should see a section called "Opens With". Select this and a list of programs will show. I recommend associating it with a zip utility.
