Hello,

I am managing a small network that is running Peachtree Accounting 7 and taking over where someone else left off. I am having a problem with the machines occasionally asking for the reg code (approx. every 10 reboots). I have to rotate through the licence numbers as the machine will not accept the code it originally had. Once you do this then the rest of the machines have to get new codes. I have reinstalled and pointed them to the proper data path on the server but the problem persists. All of the machines are running Windows 2000. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How you set the program path and data path for each machine? I mean the settings in PAW70.ini?

What about the reg code set you're using? As far as I know, there're 2 sets, one for standalone, one for value pack ( multi-user ). Are you using the standalone reg code?

I have the data path pointing to the server via the drive being mapped and I have the program path point to each machines local program directory (in the paw70.ini). Is it possible to use UNC addresses to prevent having to map the drive? (i.e. \\server\drive) I am using the unlimited multi user version. Thank you for any help.

I don't think you can use UNC, there'll be problems in locating files. Why you think the reg problem is related to mappings?

Also, can you tell me the first 2 digits of your reg code?

I don`t think that the mapping was a problem, I just like using UNC address when possible. The reg codes I use begin with "18". Again thank you for your assistance.

Hi Nemo,

We've contacted Peachtree, and they said if you can provide the serial number to them, they can re-generate a reg # for you which will work fine. Of course, it's better not to post your serial number right here.

Please give me a mail, so I can refer you to them. No need to send the serial number to me, you can send directly to Peachtree. But, I need to pass you the information who you can contact. Of course, if you like me to help you, I can also do it for you.
