Purge / End of Year

First time user of closing out Peachtree.

Followed closing menus and set to purge overnight. Crashed and restarted NINE hours ago. Still purging....

Has anyone else taken this long to close and purge 2000? Is there something I can do or just cross my fingers that it doesn't crash again tonight? Thanks!

The length of time to purge varies with the amount of data you have in the system and which portions you are using. For example, if you use all, including job cost, purging takes longer. It also depends on how fast your system runs and whether you are purging across a network. I've seen purges take an entire weekend.

If it crashes again, you might try purging in smaller segments, such as purging 3 months at a time instead of a year. Make a backup before starting each new purge.

Hi!

Our company has purged the last couple of years and I have to run it over the weekend. I start it on Friday evening and come in Saturday and Sunday morning to make sure it is still running. Usually it is done by Monday morning. Unfortunately it takes that long to run it.
