Hey guys and gals,
I've got the PPA Distribution edition. Now, we use Assemblies. All of the components that go into this assembly are already set up. We build the assembly item when it is ordered; in other words, we are a job shop.
We order components from vendors that supply the parts to us the fastest.
The objective is not to stock inventory items, but rather order them on a Just-in-Time basis.
Peachtree isn't letting me build an assembly item into the negative. It won't automatically generate the Purchase Order for the components going into the assembly; instead a dialog box comes up telling me that I'm short for a few components items.
How can I get it to tell my purchasing department "Hey guys, time to order these items."; We need to have this assembly built by this date.
I've tried various things: Even Sales Orders, and they allow me to sell the assembly into the negative. However, how do we get them to then generate a PO and thus a PI for the items I'm short on hand?
Any insight, GREATLY appreciated!
