How do you delete old employees? I can make them inactive but then they stay in the employees list. When I try to delete an employee, I get a statement about their being entries that pertain to this employee when this employee has not had any payroll activity for 2 years. Sometimes I get a comment that the employee has a balance, but again, the employee has been long gone for two years and all balances show as zero. Any suggestions????

Since no one seems to have responded to this post for several months, is it safe to assume that no one knows how to fix this problem?
I have several employees that have been gone for over 2 years that I would like to delete as well. What possible transactions could still be "attached" to these employees that would prevent their deletion?
I have not had this problem with every employee I've tried to delete, but I've gotten to the point that each ex-employee that is still listed cannot be deleted. Help? Thomas

Just guessing, but maybe give this a try.

Thanks for the suggestion, but...
I've purged each year from 1996 to 2001. Naturally 2002 is still there; I haven't finished with it yet. Doesn't seem to make a difference. That's what's so maddening. These people haven't worked here in over two years, those years have already been purged, yet PT still thinks there are entries pertaining to these people. What possible entries could it be referring to? Thomas

Try running integrity checks and reindexing the employee file and then run the employee\journal data synch test and see if that helps.
MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP BEFORE RUNNING INTEGRITY CHECKS

Seeing that you have done all that, your last course of action is to click on the data damaged? banner above and have Shannon's crew examine your data. Sounds like you have damage that needs to be professionally repaired.
