PCA V11 was moved from a secondary HDD on an old PC to a new notebook running 98.
program installed, however the instructions in the manual under "Moving Peachtree" said to go to DOS mode and type RESTORE A: C:\ /S which came up with "bad command or file name."
Finally had to move all individual folders manually folder at a time. After moving the folders the program finally found the data in all areas except General Ledger. Received red screen with error "Module is being activated by another user." PCA will not let me into GL or go into utilities to make any other adjustments to GL.

I had the same problem. The mistake is in the restore command provided in the installation instructions. You were instructed to type RESTORE A: C:\ /S. You need to restore the data with the command PTREST A: C:\ /S. Manually moving the data will only allow you run portions of the program but will not permit use of GL. (I know; I did the same thing.) Good luck!
