I am using version 7 complete and started to close the year 2000 as I always leave the previous year open. I am receiving an error "Footing error acct###". I am not familiar with this however I followed the instruction and ran the integrity check with no success in correcting this error. The error is indicating the following accts are involved. CASH, FICA & FED W/H, ST W/H, ST UNEMPL, MISC EXPENSE, and an INCOME ACCT.
I did not notice this problem when I closed '99 but I am now concerned that maybe this problem was carried over from '99.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Jed, I know you've probably resolved your problem one way or another by now, but for the others who encounter a similar problem...

These kinds of footing errors are repairable. Details here. (http://peachtreeusers.com/datarepair.htm)

In release 7 there is a temporray type of file called sortjob.dat. If you have ran the integrity checks and they have not corrected, rename this file with Peachtree closed and it will rebuild itself when you open the company. Normally you cannot allow these files to rebuild but sortjob.dat is a special file.
