Network Cards?

Diane Koers posted a reply to my earlier question....thanks much....but she mentions all the computers on a network using Peachtree 8.0 should have the same network card.

Would anyone know why this is? We are a CPA firm, trying to help one of our businesses gain efficiency with their Peachtree Accounting. Every one of the 8 workstations (Win98) have a different network card (Win NT server).

It has been reported by several Peachtree users running on a network that frequent corruptions have been traced to using mixed network cards. When they replaced all their cards by the same name brand (e.g., 3-COM) cards, their data corruption problems went away.

Apparently different brand cards do not always work so well together. Peachtree, because it is a database application, is particularly sensitive to network problems.
