Accounts Receivable and/or Invoicing/OE data files open for update

When I try and access my Acounts Receivable I get the following error:

"Your Accounts Receivable and/or Invoicing/OE data files are open for
update by another program. You cannot run this program until the
other program has finished. If not on a network, please check the
CONFIG.SYS file to make sure that the FILES= line is set to 100 or
greater. If using a network, files may need to be greater than 100."


Whenever I try another option, I get error "001" and this error:
"Your Inventory data files are open for update by another program.
This program cannot be run until the other program is finished.
What could this be? There is no other file/program running at the same time."

I run Complete DOS version.

Some operating systems don't read FILES= in the config.sys.

Try the following to get rid of the error message:

Go to Start, Run, in the open box type: sysedit
Add:PerVMFiles= 250 to the [386Enh] section of the system.ini file.

Add: SET OVERLAY_HEAP=1 and SET PC3ID=CO in the autoexec.bat file.


Remember to save your changes.

Restart your computer in order for the changes to take effect.
