Close fiscal year/posting problem

When trying to close the fiscal year, we continually get the error message that transactions are not posted, even after several attempts to post the transactions. Any clues?

If you are set to Real-Time, try setting to Batch, then back to Real-Time. That may force posting of the unposted records.
