I am new to Peachtree and am entering an existing company. How do I enter the last years sales and expenses for comparison to this year?
Entering the sales wouldn't be bad, but I hope I don't have to rekey every invoice.....
All I really need is the expense account total for each month of the last year.
Is there any easy way?
Thanks

If you have just started the company, you should have opened it so that the 2 fiscal years open were 2001 and 2002 - NOT 2002 and 2003. Then you can go into the General Journal and post the J/E's for each month. After everything is set you close the fiscal year and you are up to date. I have actually started companies and added five years of data into Peachtree in this manner.
If you have 2002 and 2003 as you open fiscal years, you can copy all information into a new company file. You would not copy the accounting periods in this case so that you could set them up to start in 2001.

Thanks, your suggestion makes a lot of sense and since I haven't actually begun the new company yet,it will be easy to change the opening years.
