What are the practical limits to business volume? We have nearly 11,000 customers and will probably add up to 4,000 more this year. We currently process an average of 30 invoices per day and should see this double during the next 12 months. When will we start to stress the system? We also just put the fifth user on the system and will want to add 1 or 2 more. Is there a way to do that?

Peachtree used to say, a few years ago, unlimited users... It is typically limited by your perception rather than a real limit. I have seen Peachtree running on systems taking up to two minutes to post an invoice.

And I said that to say: You are not approaching the limits yet. Once the posting slows you down and you don't like or can't accept the processing speeds, you should upgrade.

Thanks for the answer. We don't currently experience excessive slowdowns. Those that we do have are normally attributable to other problems - generally network related. Which brings me back to the second part of my question:

Is there any way to go above 5-users? What would happen if we installed on a sixth or seventh PC? Typically only 3 people would probably be using PT at any given moment but all 6 or 7 would have PT open on their desktops.

Thanks.

It is still unlimited users. However, noone will recommend using it above 5 users anymore. Best does have some midlevel packages that they sell. They would rather get you to upgrade once Peachtree starts slowing down.
