closing year - new accounting period problems

I closed the previous year (2003) like usual, entered all sales data for the new accounting period (01/05). When trying to open 02/05 I get an error message: 1) All transactions must be posted and the next one: 2) You must post all journnals before you can close the current accounting period.

This is weird, since there are no journals to be posted - i am on Real Time mode.

Any idea or help is highly appreciated, since i lost already one month in saled data while trying to restore data...

Change to batch posting in maintain company information. Post all journals under tasks, system. Then change back to real-time. This will usually post the unposted transactions.

Occasionally, you will still have a problem with unposted transactions. If that happens, use the data checker.

Go to maintain, company information, click on the posting method button, change to batch, click OK, and then OK again. Then go right back in and change it back to real time and you will see a small screen that says posting journals. It is the same as posting all through task, system, post, all journals but much faster.
