Can anyone help me? I'm trying to set up default price level calculations. According to everthing I hear, see and read, I should be able to set up "Price Level 2" as a calculation based on "Price Level 1", HOWEVER, when I try to edit Price Level 2, the drop-down menu only shows "current price", "last cost", and "no calculation" as the basis of the calculation. WHERE IS Price Level 1?

Has anyone run into this before? Is it some default I've set incorrectly somewhere? I've been messing around with this for a couple of hours now and am EXTREMELY frustrated.

I appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks,
Carmen.

You may want to look into using the Peachtree Price Changer. It gives you a very flexible way to perform price changes from an Excel spreadsheet. To find out more check out the link on

csjodin - you need to be sure that you price levels are enabled in inventory before you can use them.

Go to:

MAINTAIN > DEFAULT INFORMATION > INVENTORY ITEMS then click the PRICE LEVEL tab. Make sure you have price levels enabled by looking at the column ENABLED and clicking on them. When you do this you should be able to use your pricing levels with autocalculation.

WARNING !! - one thing I ran into is that when you enter your prices for price level 1 even though yo have set it to adjust your price for the other levels you have to be careful. If you enter an incorrect price for level 1 and then realize yoou entered the wrong price (data entry error) you have to be sure you go into the price level for that item and click the recalcuate button. Even though you have the price levels set to adjust the price on levels 2, 3 etc from level 1 you still need to tell the system to recalculate - go figure.

Hope this helped you

That problem is a defect that only occurs to companies that you select to custom build your chart of accounts or copy from a company that has a custom built COA. There is no correction for it last I checked.
