Our state charges 6% for goods and 1% for services for sales tax.
I created a taxing authority for each rate and a tax code for each rate. The percent is correct for each tax code
In inventory maintain I set the proper tax code.
When I pick an inventory item the tax code is selected properly.
I start an invoice and select the customer.
The problem is that reguardless of the line item tax code each line item is taxed at the rate at the bottom of the invoice. If I change the tax code at the bottom of the invoice the tax is recomputed for every line item at the new rate. The tax code for each line item is ignored. The only exception is if I pick an exempt tax code for the line item. Then the item is not included in the tax calculation.
Is their any way I can put two line items on one invoice and have one tax at 1% and the other tax at 6%?
