there are checks missing from the register even though they printed and more checks were written after them.

where could they be? how do i restore them?

To possibiliies:

Print out your check register from day one through the present to determine if the checks might have been misdated.

Also check your ledger to see if there are entries for the missing checks. For example, suppose that one of the missing checks was for rent. Print out the General Ledge entries for all periods of rent to see if you can find the missing check.

If you used select for payment and answered no, to the question on whether the checks printed correctly, then it printed them but did not post them.
