I'm a network contractor being asked to sort out a problem with Peachtree 6.0 on NT 4.0.
The installation is on a workstation but the data files are on a server. There is also an installation of 6.0 on the server itself.
The main problem is that when you do a backup from the workstation or the server AND point the backup to a hard drive location, it copies the files, prompts to insert a new disk and goes through the whole process again. This is an endless loop that can only be broken by ending the task.
This is a more significant problem because they are trying to close out the fiscal year but it never gets that far because the backup fails.
The other question I have is concerning folder structure. The folder structure on the server is like this ...
PCHDATA
|
-----> APTCP
It appears as though the same files are present in both, and when opening a company it points to PCHDATA. However, if a backup is attempted using the default path (BAK), this gets created in the APTCP folder.
Any tips would be most appreciated.
