View Full Version : Automatic purchase orders

OK...I have a client with something strange going on and I want to see if anyone else is experiencing it. They have Distribution 2005 and have the automatic purchase orders turned on. They say the automatic ordering is flaky in that sometimes PT doesn't automatically order a necessary item even though all the parameters are setup in the inventory item. (Min qty, reorder, vendor ID etc).

Now today they said they found a PO issued for an item that has had no activity for a year, and has been below the min qty for all that time...but suddenly PT issued a PO.

There are only two or three people in the system, and I'm not finding anything on the audit trail to see where PO's are being generated then deleted or some other user changes.
I brought their data back to my office but I've not been able to recreate any of the problems they are seeing. They are very unhappy because they don't feel they can trust the software. Anyone have any thoughts on this???

Based on your description, you need to run Peachtree's Integrity checks, specifically, DATA SYNCHRONIZATION, Inventory / Journal to correct this type of problem.

We've already done that. Didn't help.
