I'm using Complete Accounting 2002 (Windows version)

My hard drive recently crashed. I had backups of company data in 2 formats:

1. A .ptb backup created in Peachtree

2. Individual files in the company data directory backed up (i.e., did not use Peachtree backup system)

The problem I have is that the .ptb backup (which restores fine) is much older than the backups of individual data files. It was only when I attempted to copy my individual backed-up files to the company did I learn that the file links are broken, etc.

Is there anyway to use these individual data files that I backed-up? (I promise to use the .ptb backup method in the future)

Thanks for the help.

Since the ptb file is really the same as a zip file you can use the individual files.

Last summer I was working remotely. Instead of copying the ptb file back and forth I just copied the updated files. Had no problems doing this at all.

So copy your files to your hard drive and double check that everything is updated as you expect before making anymore transactions.

Thanks LauraG. I was able to copy the individual files. It didn't work for me at first, but I was trying to copy all of the files to a new company directory. After I copied the old directory along with the individual files it worked fine.

Thanks again.
