Sharing Customized Financial Statements

I created a customized Financial statement that I would like to share with a friend.

Is this possible since the report is buried in report.dat?

Setup a fictious company and copy your chart of accounts and then copy your customized financials using the COPY icon in the Reports menu. Backup this new company and send it to your friend. Have them restore the backup as a NEW company. Then select their real company and COPY the custom financial from the fictious company.
