Need some helps from the experts here:

i had done the bank reconcilled, it is all looking good,

1. peachtree checks and bank debits were matched with bank statement checks and other deductions,

2. peachtree deposits and bank credits were matched with bank statment deposits and other additions.

I got the statement ending balance entered. All the outstanding checks are good, no deposit in transit. Not sure how the GL (system) balance amount came from. But it there with some amounts. And I have 30.00 in Unreconciled Different.

I checked all over and very frustrated because not sure why there is Unreconciled Different? Can someone advice what to do next? Is there anywhere elses for me to look for the different? I ran out of places to look for the different.

please help

thanks

tiffany

The GL system balance comes from your General ledger Amount for that account
sounds like you had Beginning Balances

I would double check that you checked off all cleared transactions. If I have a unreconciled difference it sometimes means I missed one. Sort on amount and see if there is a $30 entry that cleared but did not get checked off.

If that does not correct it then go back to the previous acocunting period and make sure that bank rec was done properly. Sometimes the errors are from earlier periods.

I had the same problem at our daycare, thanks to too many hands over the months trying to do bookkeeping.

At our business, one administrator would change the "ending statement balance" (that is plugged into the reconciliation form of peachtree) from what the statement said, to what figure she had come up with in order to have a zero at the end!

GRRRRR.....I had to go back to month #1 of our fiscal year and do all of the reconciliations over...which included correcting entries where checks were written against a savings acct!

Balancing my July statement was a breeze....but the legwork re-doing previous months was the pits!
