View Full Version : Install erase files
I have Windows XP Professional operating system. I'm installing Peachtree Complete Accounting 2005. I click on the setup file. The program runs and copies files to the destination. When the installation is completed, the files are erased and all peachtree directories are empty. Whats going on, HELP!
the only thing I can assume is that you either have a bad copy of Peachtree, or something is wrong with your hard drive itself. Have you tried installing other programs on the computer? Do you get the same result or does it work as it should?
I have other programs that installs and runs great

Check the Peachtree initialization file PCW120.INI and look at the section for the Datapath and further down for the program path. Then check to see if Peachtree is not installed in a different location than where you are looking. Go to START and RUN, then type PCW2005 and click OK. This will open Peachree's reference files. Look at the third paragraph and the last line of this section where you will see the words DATAPATH= ?????? and similarly further down you will see the words PROGRAMPATH= ????
The path is correct. I open explorer and I can see the files coping to the directory. Before it finish installing, it starts erasing the files and closes. There is no desktop icon nor anything in the add remove program.

I would scan your computer with an antivirus tool, such as the free online tool (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan/com/activescan_principal.htm) from Panda Software.
