W-2 Sorting

Peachtree says it prints W-2 by employee ID order and if you don't use last names as the ID, W-2s won't print in alphabetical order. However, my W-2s are sorted by the employees' social security numbers when printing! I want alphabetical by employee ID number (which is last name). Any suggestions?? Thanks

Up until the 2001 W2's PT did print by Employee ID. Now however, they do print by SS# which is one reason it's giving everyone fits running W2's this year.

Unfortunately, there is no way around the print order in PT.

Also, make sure ALL employees AND sales reps have something in the SS field and that no two ID's have the same SS#.

Well, that's very interesting...considering that I use Peachtree Accounting 2002 and I found the information about printing/sorting by employee ID in IT'S help.

I believe the main reason W-2's are printed in SS# order is because this is the new format required by the IRS and Social Security Administration.
