Peachtree Complete 2002 Release 9.0.01.027 on Win2k Pro SP 2. If I open one of the demo companies, for example Bellweather Garden Supply, choose Reports | Accounts Receivable from the menu and then do nothing for 30 to 60 seconds I get an Application Error dialog with the message, "The instruction at "0x70d535b8" referenced memory at "0x70d535b8". The memory could not be "read"."
When I click OK I get a second Application Error dialog with the same message but different addresses. When I click OK in this dialog PCAW terminates. On another computer, also running Win2k Pro SP 2 I get a different error but the same result, PCAW terminates. This is reproducible on both machines.
This error does not occur using my company (created about six years ago and upgraded through all ensuing versions of PCAW) on either machine. Iwould really like to find a solution because I want to use the demo company for some testing. Any suggestions?

First of all, the most up-to-date service pack for Peachtree is 9.0.02. Please apply it first. Sometimes conflict between Peachtree and IE cause problems like this.
Refer to posts on "error [36]..." before in this forum to make sure the upgrade sequence is correct.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately this is my first attempt at usinng this forum and when I try to search for error [36] all I get is an error message saying that 36 is less than the minimum word length of four characters and the search cannot be performed.
What is the trick to searching for an error number.
Thanks,
Bill

Ignore my last post. I finally got the search to work.

We have been loyal Peachtree customers and supporters since 1987, upgrading every time a new realease came along. In October of 1999 we upgraded from 7.x to 8.0. We receive the same error in the demo companies as well as our three. We contacted Peachtree support many times between October and December (1999) but they insisted they would have to charge us an as yet unspecifed amount to help us with this issue. We could have given them a blank check (our credit card number) and hoped for the best, but the fact that the problem still exists is an indication that we made the right choice. When the numerous solicitations for 2002 began to pour in, we ignored every one. If they are sponsoring this forum or if a fellow Peachtree user is doing so because of similar support issues then we applaud them. After so many years with Peachtree, we still know it better than the other software we were forced to install 13 months ago because of an arrogance that approached that of Microsoft.
We may miss a reply to your post that corrects this problem as we are no longer the regulars on "biz.comp.accounting" that we used to be. So please forward any working solutions you may receive.
Anyone still around from the CompuServe forum days remember posts from "ComBug"?
