I am a new user to Peachtree. I have a small manufacturing company, that does not yet have a large number of inventory transactions. I do have an average number of exepnse transactions. Can someone share with me what the "average" requirement is for back-up capacity ? I want to back-up my accounting data in a separate storage media from the main server back-up. Will I likely need 100 MB ? 1 GB ? Can I sue a thumbdrive, etc ? Thanks for your advice and opinions in advance.

The size of your backup depends entirely on how much data you have to back up. Typical Peachtree backup files can range anywhere from under 1 MB to several hundred MB.
Do not depend on backup media as your primary protection. You should first do a backup within Peachtree - that will create a file with a .ptb extension but it is really just a .zip file with your entire database in it. You want to do this from within Peachtree so that you can be sure you have backed up a consistent set of data files.
Back up your data from within Peachtree every day - that gives you protection against data corruption. And do this to a disk other than where you have your Peachtree data stored to protect against a disk failure.
You can then back up your Peachtree backup files onto media and get them offsite to protect you against disaster.
