Whenever we use a process or try to print out something that relies on looking up history the time it takes has suddenly gotten very long.
For instance, running a daily invoice register typically takes about 10 seconds. For the last few days it has taken more than a minute each time. Other processes that seem to be effected are posting cash reciepts and cash reciepts register. No other programs that we run on this computer are having a similar problem.
Any ideas would be appreciated....
Thanks,
Ray
What OS/NOS are you running? How many computers?
Also, some people has found that the Auto-Protect feature of some Anti-Virus software packages decreases the execution speed of some Peachtree modules. Try turning it off.
Have you added more computers to the network? or changed the Switch/Hub? Check the Network (Cat5) cables.
Some apps work better that others with limited Bandwidth, my experience tells me that Peachtree is a network intensive app. Maybe there a hardware fault somewhere but you haven't noticed it much in some apps except from Peachtree.

Hi, I thank you both for writing but this is a stand alone PC and no change in configuration including no new printers recently. I think it might have to do with our index file being over 40 meg but I don't know what to do about it....
Still hoping for some ideas...
Thanks, Ray

ALSO IF YOU HAVE A SORTJOB.DAT FILE IN YOUR DATA DIRECTORY FOR THE COMPANY, YOU CAN DELETE OR RENAME IT AND IT WILL RECREATE ITSELF. THAT FILE HELPS PROCESS REPORTS QUICKER.
