v2002: Can I Fax out P.O.'s?

Hello:

Anyway to fax out purchase orders we create in PT Accounting 2002 from the program?

We're running it under Windows 2000 Pro. Also, we've got WinFax Pro v10.

I'm trying to avoid sending the P.O.'s out manually using our fax machine.

Surely you can do so.

After you install the Winfax, a fax driver appears in the printer list. In your PO design, change the default printer to this winfax printer driver. Then, every time you print using this PO form, you will be prompted to give the fax number ( or choose the person ) to fax to.

Last Oct you kindly replied to my inquiry.

I have WinFax Pro v.10 and P.T.A. 2002 installed on my PC. My HP LaserJet 4MP+ is the default printer under our Windows 2000 OS.

I can print easily to my HP default printer, however, if I want to fax out a form, e.g. a PO, I have to go to START|Settings|Printers and then make WinFax Pro my default printer, then go back to Peachtree, then send out my fax. Then I have to reset my HP LaserJet as the default printer.

In other Windows applications the print dialog box gives me the option to print to WinFax Pro, but not in P.T. 2002. It's a real time waster to have to continually change my default printer that way.

Often I need to print a hard copy of our PO, and, also fax a copy to our vendor.

Do you know how I can get WinFax Pro printer to show up as an option when I go to print, instead of always printing to the default printer?

Replicate your purchase order form, and assign the laser printer as the default printer for one, and WinFax as the default printer for the other. Then, in the Purchase Order screen, click the Template button on the tool bar. Create two templates, one called Print, the other called Fax. Assign the appropriate PO form to each. Going forward, you'll be able to just choose your template from that button to toggle between forms.
