I am using PT 2010 Premium for Non-Profits. All was well until I started archiving a prior year. I backed up twice - once onto the computer and once onto a disk. Then started the archive. It ran fine until I got to the "now closing" window. Then I got the following error message:
Error Loading DLL exception unknown software exception 0xc00200a occurred in the application at location 0x7c812afb.
Then click OK to terminate and close. When I re-opened PT everything looked OK. However, the first time I tried to open a List I got this error:
A managed exception was caught in ShowListView(). Error: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. Now I can't view any lists from the dropdown menus.

I now am also unable to edit my budgets as they are showing as SAVE Only. The Sage Knowledgebase indicates it is due to a corrupt budget data file. I tried correct via their instructions but cannot find the Install Integrity Check that I am to use.

Diana, you may wish to investigate professional Peachtree data repair.

You might want to try the data checker (found on this site) and data verification

        exception errors

        1. I can't afford to pay $465 for 'professional data repair'.
        2. I have run the data verification and no errors are reported.
        3. I have tried 'repairing' but still get exception error ShowListView.
        4. Now intermittently I get a message about Peachtree being closed before Year End Wizard was completed. (I received 'finished' message before I logged off). Restore good back up and re-run year end wizard.

Will uninstall and reinstall correct these issues?

I reread your first post. How about creating a new company from your backup. Then your only issue would be adding transactions that occurred since closing the year. And if you create a new company, you would still have the old co,pany to refer to.

No, uninstalling/reinstalling won't affect anything because the problem is in your data, not in your program.

I suggest that if you can't get your data repaired, you restore your backup from before the archive attempt, and go forward from there. You may not be able to run the archive command successfully with your data in its condition.

vista does not work well with every version. What version are you using?

I am having a similar problem. Cannot bring up any transaction lists, customer list, vendor list, etc. Get error "A Managed exception was caught in ShowListView(). The error is 'Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.'". Everything else seems to work fine.

We just started using the 2010 version of PPAM. SR1 installed. Upgraded from 2007 version of PPAM.

Tried reinstalling SR1 -- no help. Ran data verification and all integrity checks -- no help. Tried repair installation function from CD -- Peachtree stopped working and had to use Windows System Restore.

Archived data from previous fiscal years work fine showing lists. Current year is the only one that doesn't work.

                HELP please!

If it didnt ever work afterupgrading I would consider a new install and then converting the data again. It is even possible that you could use the current datato rebuild your company after reconverting.

I woul backup frist of course, but then I would uninstall your current version before starting.
