How to print to 40 col receipt printer

I left PAW after about ten years of use for multiple reasons and have recently been using an online POS along with QB Online. Things change, so we are moving back to PAW. While I understand that PAW is not a true POS program, we have always used it as such and it works great ... except for one limitation. I need to print to a receipt printer! It is so silly to have to print out an entire full sheet of paper when the customer just bought a single item! I quit counting how many trees we must have killed just to invoice that box of screws! Anyway, our printers are directly accessible from Windows software. I know I just need a form smart enough to print only the item lines that contain data. The rest should be easy. Does anyone know how to do this, or have a form they are already using and wouldn't mind sharing?

I haven't done this for a receipt printer, but I know you can customize forms. Try clicking on the design button when you are printing. There you will be able to experiment with the tools available. Anything you design has to be saved with a unique name.

Yes, I've been using custom forms in PW for over a decade, got that down. What I don't know however is to make a form that will print out onto a roll of paper, only printing the item lines required so that paper is conserved and then ideally sending out that EOF signal to trigger the paper cutter. Anybody doing this, or have some suggestions?
