Red face Can't Restore Backup

I recently reloaded a computer with Windows XP. I backed up the files using Ghost making an image of the hard drive. I went to restore the files and I got the error message "The file you have selected is not a valid Peachtree backup file." I can't figure out how to get the backup back in, or is it that it has been corrupted.

You most likely have the Read Attribute checked in the COMPANY.DAT file in your company folder -----uncheck the Read attribute. check all files in your company folder and make sure the Read Attribute is unchecked. This will happen sometimes when backing up to a CD disk.

If you made the backup using Ghost, you won't be able to use the Peachtree restore. You'll have to restore it with Ghost and you should then be able to open the company in Peachtree.

I have extrated it from the ghost file, but is it possible that it might have currupted the data? If so, what is the best course of action? I can't afford to lose this data.
